If you are interested in joining one of our ministries, please contact the church office.  Participation in any ministry requires those to be registered with the Diocese of Pittsburgh’s Safe Environment Database.

The Social Ministry provides for the spiritual needs of the parish and reaches out to those within the parish boundaries who need vital assistance for their physical, social, and spiritual needs.  There are many senior citizens and low income families that the Social Ministry helps.  Here are some of the various ways in which the Social Ministry works:

Pastoral Care - Funeral Home Visits, Hospital Visits, Anointing Masses, Legion of Mary Prayer Vigils, Mass of Remembrance
Case Management - Assistance Appointments for LIHEAP & CAP, Department of Aging Services, Financial Referrals for Health Care Issues
Tangible Items - Provide Emergency Food, Clothing, Small Housewares, and Linens to Those in Need
Emergency Financial Assistance - Utility Bills, Medical Bills, Groceries
Parish Outreach - Angel Tree (Christmas), Food Drive (Thanksgiving), Lent - Linens and Towels to St. Joseph House of Hospitality, Summer Camp Scholarships to Sarah Heinz House, Clothing Drive for St. Vincent DePaul
Communication of Care - Send Birthday, Get-Well, Bereavement, and Holiday Cards, and Thank-You Notes, Bibles to Prisoners

Our parish is blessed to have dedicated volunteers who work to have the Social Ministry meet the needs of those who need our help.

The Liturgy Committee, comprised of members of both Incarnation of the Lord and Risen Lord parishes, oversees the liturgical calendar and makes recommendations on how to enrich the worship services.  The committee meets approximately ten times a year for about an hour.  Presently, the sessions meet on the first Thursday of the month.  The committee is small but active.  We have offered lector workshops, Advent and Lent themes, and Eucharistic processions and Adoration to name a few.

The Music Ministry enhances the worship of the parish's liturgies with song.  The music that is sung ranges from traditional hymns to contemporary songs.  The choir sings almost every week from mid-September to Pentecost and alternates between the Saturday evening and Sunday morning Masses.  The choir rehearses on Thursdays from 7:30 to 9:00 PM.  No musical background is needed to join the choir and new members are encouraged to join at the start of the new season or just after Christmas.  Cantors also serve to lead the congregation in singing.

The Women’s Guild has monthly meetings the second Sunday of the Month after the 9:00 AM Mass.  The Guild has about fifty members, but most are home bound.  There are about fifteen active members who attend our monthly meetings.  Members take turns hosting our meetings where we enjoy food and mostly, companionship!  We share information on those members we do not see, and some members reach out to our home bound members.  We also contribute to the missions monthly.

The Legion of Mary is an international organization founded in Dublin, Ireland by Frank Duff in 1921 as a Roman Catholic Marian Movement.  The members of the Legion are primarily engaged in the performance of the Spiritual Works of Mercy rather than works of material aid.  Members can be active or auxiliary (praying).

The Legion of Mary divided up into smaller groups and each group is known as a praesidium.  The praesiduim at Incarnation of the Lord is Mary, Ark of the Covenant.

Some of the works of this praesidium are:
Visiting the elderly and sick at their homes or at personal care and nursing homes.

Taking a Pilgrim Virgin Statue of Mary to parishioner’s homes.  The statue will stay with the parishioners for one to two weeks and it will allow them connect with the parish as they pray.

Providing a Book Barrow near the entrance of the church to in an effort to evangelize parishioners on a variety of topics in the Church.

Sponsoring a First Saturday Mass in the months of June, July, August, September, and October of 2017 in honor of the 100th Anniversary of the Blessed Mother’s Appearance at Fatima.
